From ashes the heart uses critical humor to narrate a day in the life of a housewife oppressed by her husband. “It is a comedy about gender inequality that combines the charm of silent movies and clowning techniques. We decided to talk about women who have always been placed in a role of forced submission. We wanted to turn the table. In the act. In the story. All around”, explains Jéferson Rachewsky, actor and director of the show.

Domestic situations are made into sketches in which Aurora, the female character, is always the protagonist. Frying a pancake turns into a juggling act and the chase scenes take on a comical tone, punctuated by the live piano soundtrack of a 1920s silent movie. The period characterization is reinforced by the makeup, costumes and a black and white set.

The show was nominated in eight categories at the 2018 Açorianos Award of Gaúcho Theater, including best actor and best actress.
