Four individuals, waiting for something to happen, are led to subvert the order of things and everyday objects in a stream of events that is anything but routine.
Using the way of life of the bees and the figure of the beekeeper allegorically, the performance approaches topics that are relevant to people today, while trying to understand how other collectives organize themselves. “In a playful way, we touch on issues that are sensitive to our society, such as environmental preservation, the robotization of human beings, the suppression of differences between individuals and (un)sustainable development,” says artist Jean Leca.
These themes are explored by the group in scenes that employ different circus techniques, such as the acrobatic dandy, tightrope, juggling, handstands, balancing, solo acrobatics and clowning.
Founded in 2015, Circo Enxame is a collective of artists that attended circus schools in Brazil and abroad, and that now focuses on the creation and research of artistic languages.
