In a hazy atmosphere, the performance shows a man’s battle to put his thoughts on paper. Over 3,000 sheets of paper are featured on stage – coming to life, disappearing, reappearing, jumping and falling back to the ground as they interact with the characters and their feelings.

According to artist Otavio Fantinato, the group spent months looking for an idea for their tenth anniversary show, until a blank piece of paper emerged as the perfect medium. “We sought inspiration in the quest itself. Looking at blank pieces of papers we realized it was all about the journey. We started paying close attention and trying to understand the creative process.”

The work is inspired by the journey of artistic creation and the challenge of keeping your balance when surrounded by chaos. This is the first time Cia do Relativo uses illusionism. The reference is magie nouvelle, a movement that emerged in France in the 2000s, combining traditional magic and other art forms, such as dance.
