This tragicomic monologue tells the story of Mafalda Mafalda, a cabaret artist who faces failure and rejection from her audience, including booing and tomatoes. As if that wasn’t enough, she ends up involved in a police mystery. To defend herself against the police inspector’s accusations, she decides to tell the audience her version of the facts.

Through flashbacks, the performer, acting as both Mafalda Mafalda and her tormentor, gradually reveals the details of a story that is filled with dark humor. Set in a bar and at a police station, the show recreates the dark suspenseful mood of film noir.
“It’s a female clowning show that takes a different look at themes that are usually considered masculine. The dialogue with the audience results in reflections on women, laughter and the limit between fiction and reality,” explains artist Andréa Macera, who is also the founder and curator of the International Gathering of Female Clowns.
